Between our co-founders we have five decades of experience working at the intersection of technology, community, social impact, and magical experiences. We’ve seen technology at its best—as a tool for equity, creativity, and collective power.
We’ve also seen it at its worst.
We live in a world where community leaders—parents, organizers, volunteers, and creators—are doing the work of full-time community managers without the tools, pay, or support they deserve.
To keep their communities alive, they’re forced to cobble together an operating system from tools never meant to work together—Patreon for funding, Discord for discussion, Eventbrite for events, Signal for privacy. It’s exhausting for leaders and members alike. And, at a time when we need our communities more than ever, the people doing the invisible labor to hold them together are burning out.
We created Komyūn to change that.

Coming Soon: Monetization Without Exploitation – On Komyūn anyone can earn revenue from subscriptions, events, and marketplace activity — not clicks or likes – and that’s how we earn revenue too. We are realigning social media revenue incentives with user incentives.
We’ve been listening closely: with over 10,000 beta volunteers and hundreds of VOCs (voice of customer interviews), we’re building what community leaders and members have been asking for — for years.
Why Now?
We’re at a turning point—not just in technology, but in how we come together as people. In an era defined by deep social fragmentation—political polarization, climate anxiety, rising loneliness, and institutional distrust, community is one of the few things that still holds the potential to heal, organize, and create meaning.
But the infrastructure we’re relying on to hold those communities together is duct tape at best — at worst, it's exploitative.
People are walking away from traditional social platforms, some in protest and some from exhaustion. They’re stitching together communities across Discord, Patreon, Eventbrite, WhatsApp—not because these tools work well together, but because there’s nowhere else to go.
And yet, we keep showing up for each other—despite the friction. Imagine what could happen if the tools showed up for us, too.
We have built Komyūn on the belief that what comes next can be more human, more creative, and more communal.
